Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al Sisi said in a press release on Thursday that the Egyptian President discussed with Chinese and Italian companies to build the third industrial fertilizer production complex in the country.
During the meeting, Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al Sisi praised the ongoing cooperation with China Wuhuan Engineering Corporation and Italy Ballestra Group, and called for the establishment of a third industrial fertilizer production consortium immediately.
The joint venture is located in Ain Sohna, northeast of Suez Governorate Province, and will supplement the existing phosphate and compound fertilizer industrial joint venture.
The President pointed out that fertilizer production, which affects food security, is one of the most important inputs in Egypt's agricultural production. He urged continued efforts to localize fertilizer production in Egypt and focus on the transfer of knowledge, technology, and professional knowledge.
